On February 2010, the 17 & 18 Staffel of Swiss Air Force painted two F/A-18C Hornet to represent theirs squadrons.
The J-5017 from 17 Staffel "Falcons" wear an hawk in shades of grey marked with "Falcons" on the external sides of the tails, as well as the badge of the squadron in low visibility under the cockpit.
the J-5018 of 18 Staffel "Panthers" with the outer sides of the tails in black, wearing the stylized inscription "18 Panthers" , while a silhouette of panther head on each inner sides of the tails.
The aircraft also wears the badge of the squadron in low visibility under the cockpit.
